- 3.5 oz dark chocolate 60-69%
- 2 tbsp milk
- 0.25 cups hazelnut pieces
Tools
- Bowl
- Molds
How to Make Puffed Spelt and Dark Chocolate Bars
To prepare the puffed spelt and dark chocolate bars, the first thing to do is to melt the chocolate. You can do it as you prefer: I roughly broke the chocolate by hand and melted it in a bain-marie, but if you have it, you can also use the microwave.
Add the milk and hazelnut pieces to the melted chocolate.
Mix everything vigorously and immediately add the puffed spelt. Stir to make sure all the spelt is coated with chocolate.
Pour the mixture into the special molds to make the bars, you will get a perfect result in a few moves: just press with the back of a teaspoon to compact the spelt.
If you don’t have molds, line a 20×20 cm pan with parchment paper, pour the spelt with chocolate inside, and compact it.
Place the molds in the refrigerator for 2 hours, then unmold and serve. If you used the pan, unmold using the parchment paper and cut with a sharp knife to get the bars. Enjoy your meal!
Storage
The bars can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container and last up to 7 days, ideally in a cool and dry place.
