The tart with bitter orange jam was a big hit at home! The reason is simple: there are pistachios, which we love!! Moreover, the contrast between the almond paste and the bitter orange jam makes it very pleasant.. indeed, it’s hard to resist!
The combination of colors is not bad at all, it cheers you up!! The orange of the jam with the bright green of the pistachios.. you eat with your eyes too!
Even the lazy or less experienced can prepare it, as all the ingredients are easily available at the supermarket.
Of course, homemade shortcrust pastry is something else entirely, but it’s not a crime not to know how to make it or not to want to prepare it!!
My suggestion is to try the tart with bitter orange jam as soon as possible, but first, take a look at the other interesting recipes, especially if you want to prepare the shortcrust pastry at home!

Ingredients
The tart with bitter orange jam, almonds, and pistachios
- 1 roll shortcrust pastry (ready-made)
- 5.3 oz almond paste
- 2 small/medium eggs (equal to 2 small/medium eggs)
- 1.8 oz pistachios (or chopped pistachios)
- 1.1 oz pine nuts
- 3 tablespoons bitter orange jam
- 2.5 oz butter
Tools
- Pie Dish for tart with a diameter of 8 inches
Preparation of the Tart with Bitter Orange Jam
Line the tart pan with the shortcrust pastry, prick the bottom with a fork, bake for 15′ in a preheated oven at 356°F, take it out and let it cool down.
– If you want to make the shortcrust pastry at home, follow the basic shortcrust pastry recipe, it turns out perfect.
– Blanch the pistachios for 1′ in boiling water, peel them, dry them, and coarsely chop them (this step is not necessary if you’re using chopped pistachios).
– Blend the softened butter in a mixer with the almond paste, and incorporate the eggs one at a time.
– Spread the jam on the bottom of the tart and pour the almond paste mixture.
– Sprinkle with pine nuts, half of the pistachios, and continue baking for 50′ covering the surface with a sheet of aluminum foil if it darkens too much.
– Let it cool, and before serving, sprinkle the tart with bitter orange jam with a little powdered sugar and the remaining pistachios.
Tips:
The tart is a pantry dessert, you can store it under a glass dome for 3/4 days.
