- 4 tablespoons tapenade
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon water

Preheat the oven to 356/374°F and start making the stuffed savory flower so…
Unroll the round puff pastry package and spread the tapenade leaving a couple of inches free around the entire perimeter of the circle.
FOR THE TAPENADE SAUCE: after rinsing the capers (50 grams) under running water put them in the blender.
Then add the anchovies (6 fillets) and the olives (180 grams pitted). Start to blend everything adding enough extra virgin olive oil and a few drops of lemon juice to obtain a mixture not too smooth and homogeneous.Then I overlap the second circle of puff pastry on top and try to join them with a light pressure of the fingertips (but come on… I thought of using my feet 😁).
Using the serrated or smooth wheel, I trace many petals leaving the circle intact and then brush with the mix of egg yolk and water.
I made the single servings, but if you’re in a hurry and not picky about the filling, just make one big sun puff!
After making the flower petals, twist them gently on themselves as you see in the photo.
I bake for about 20 minutes or depending on your home oven’s characteristics and as soon as it’s warm, I serve this simple yet appetizing flower-shaped puff appetizer with tapenade sauce!
