How to make Creamy Grandma’s Cake in a Glass
When I prepare custard, I put a bowl in the freezer, so the cream will cool faster!
Pour the milk into a stainless steel saucepan and bring it to a boil with the edible peel of a lemon. Meanwhile, in a bowl, I put the egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch, working vigorously with a hand whisk to make the mixture smooth and creamy. Pour the boiling milk into the bowl, remove the lemon peel, and stir to combine everything. Transfer the mixture to the steel pan and return to the heat over medium flame, constantly stirring with the whisk. As soon as the cream thickens, turn off, pour the cream into the bowl I previously placed in the freezer, cover with plastic wrap, and let it cool.
Crumble the biscuits in a mixer and set aside, toast the pine nuts in a small pan, stir the cooled custard, and prepare 4 small dessert glasses.
