Ingredients
- 1/3 cup onion
- 1 medium carrot
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 bouillon cube (or 4 cups vegetable broth (1 liter))
- 1.5 cup dry lentils
- 1 stalk celery (stalk)
Steps
How to prepare stewed lentils
First, check the lentils’ package for soaking times and any preparation required in advance. Then make a mixed mince of onion, carrot and celery. Put them into a large pot with the olive oil and sweat them. Brown briefly and add the lentils, the water with the bouillon cube or the vegetable broth. Also add the cleaned cherry tomatoes and the salt.
Cook covered on the stovetop for about 30 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken, and serve in individual bowls with slices of country bread and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
After soaking the lentils following all the package instructions, always rinse them and set aside.
In the bowl put the onion cut into pieces, the carrot and the celery also in pieces. Chop everything for 4 seconds at speed 7.
Add the oil and sauté for 5 minutes at 212°F speed 1.Add the lentils, the water with the bouillon cube or all vegetable broth, the cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper, and cook for 30 minutes at 212°F speed soft (counterclockwise).
