Microwave Margherita Pizza

Ingredients for the microwave Margherita pizza:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fine salt
  • 1 3/4 cups tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 fior di latte mozzarella
  • to taste dried oregano
  • to taste fine salt

Steps for preparing and cooking the Margherita pizza in the microwave:

  • First, prepare the pizza dough; we used the following dough, but you can use any type of dough and put about 250 grams per pan.

    In a large bowl, put the sifted flour, dry yeast, and mix well, add the extra virgin olive oil and warm water a little at a time and start combining the ingredients; when the mixture begins to form, add the salt and knead well.

    Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead it well until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.

    Transfer it to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a cotton cloth, and let it rise for a couple of hours until it doubles.

  • After the resting time, oil the crisp trays and put a third of the dough in each tray, spread the dough well with your fingertips starting from the center, let it rest for 15 minutes, and finish spreading the dough.

    In a bowl, put the tomato sauce, extra virgin olive oil, and salt, mix well, and distribute it over the three trays.

    Add the mozzarella previously well-dried and cut into small cubes and the oregano.

    Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.

  • Put one tray at a time on the microwave’s rotating glass plate, crisp or combo function (microwave+grill), cook for 13/15 minutes until golden brown.

    Decorate with fresh basil leaves.

    Serve your hot steaming pizzas right away…don’t burn your palate like I always do…
