Chocolate and Orange Cookies

Chocolate and Orange Cookies, no dough required and very easy to make, soft, fragrant, and simply delicious.

Perfect to enjoy at any time of the day, they are ideal for accompanying a coffee at breakfast, for a tasty break, or as a sweet treat after dinner.

The dough made with cream cheese makes the cookies incredibly soft and moist. The special touch comes from the grated orange zest, which gives an irresistible fragrance, and the chocolate chips that, once melted, provide an even more indulgent texture.

Moreover, these cookies do not require special kitchen skills: just mix the ingredients in a bowl, form balls, and bake. In just over half an hour, you’ll have treats ready to share with friends and family. If you love classic flavors with an original twist, this recipe is definitely for you.

Try them and let yourself be charmed by their simplicity and enveloping taste. If you like recipes with the scent of orange, I recommend taking a look at my clementine scones.

  • Also add the egg, sunflower oil, and the zest of an untreated orange into the bowl.

  • Mix again with the spatula or whisks until you get a homogeneous and well-mixed batter.

  • Add the dry ingredients in two or three batches, mixing well between each addition.

  • Finish the cookie dough with the chocolate chips.

  • Take portions of the dough using an ice cream scoop or a spoon.
Place them well spaced apart, they will flatten during baking.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • Can I substitute cream cheese?

Yes, you can replace it with well-drained ricotta or mascarpone. Keep in mind that mascarpone will make the cookies richer and creamier, while ricotta will give a lighter texture.

  • Is it possible to use another type of oil?

Of course! If you prefer, you can use corn oil or melted coconut oil. However, avoid extra virgin olive oil, as it has a flavor too strong for this recipe.

  • How to store chocolate and orange cookies?

Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days. If you want them to stay fresher, you can also keep them in the fridge: before serving, leave them at room temperature for a few minutes.
