Chocolate-Covered Cookie Treats are a must-have, they’re egg-free and don’t require any baking. How did they come about? I had leftover dry cookies from the Cookie and Almond Salami recipe and thought to crumble them, add almonds, candied orange zest, and dip small mounds into white and dark chocolate . . . a real delight!

Steps
Pour the sugar and cooled melted butter into a bowl and mix them with a whisk. Heat the milk and add it to the 3 1/2 oz of melted white chocolate. Stir well and combine everything in the bowl with the butter and sugar. Add the chopped almonds.
Also add the diced candied orange zest and broken-up cookies. Mix well with the spatula so that the dry parts are well incorporated. Wait 5 minutes to let it firm up, then use two teaspoons to take a small amount and place it on a tray lined with parchment paper. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, as the treats harden, melt the white and dark chocolate in two separate small bowls in the microwave. Using two toothpicks or a small fork, dip each treat one by one and place them on parchment paper. Put everything in the fridge, and after a few hours, they’ll be ready to enjoy . . . a real delight!
