The Moscow Mule is a long drink born in the United States of America in 1941 during the Smirnoff vodka brand campaign to encourage the consumption of vodka, which was practically nonexistent because it was not well known. The brand met John A. “Jack” Morgan, the owner of the Cock’n Bull Pub in Hollywood, who was committed to promoting his new “ginger lemonade” brand. Together, they came up with the idea of creating a drink made with the two ingredients, served in a copper mug (copper mug) in bars with an astounding marketing campaign that positively contributed to the popularity of the Moscow Mule in the following decade and continues to this day.

Ingredients for making the Moscow Mule
Choosing a good vodka is equally as important as choosing an excellent ginger beer.
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 4 oz beer (ginger)
- 0.17 oz lime juice
- 1 slice lime
- 4.2 oz ice
Tools
- 1 Shaker Cobbler
- 1 Juicer
- 1 Mug moscow mule mug
- 1 Tongs
How to make the Moscow Mule
The Moscow Mule is a cocktail that belongs to the highballs group and, traditionally, should be served in a copper mug on the rocks.
Pour the indicated amount of vodka for 1 portion into the mixing glass or shaker cobbler.
Then, add the part of ginger beer. Ginger beer is a fermented drink made from ginger root extract, widely popular and appreciated during the summer period.
Gently stir the two ingredients with the spoon found together with the shaker.
Add the lime juice. The amount of lime juice is approximately obtained from half a lime. Extract the lime juice using the juicer and leave the other half to obtain lime slices for its use at the end of preparation and for decorative garnish.
Put the ice cubes or crushed ice in the copper mug or copper mug. The IBA (International Bartenders Association) rules have codified that long drinks should be served in an highball glass but tradition dictates that a copper mug should contain the Moscow Mule as it was originally created for the public.
Pour the cocktail into the mug or copper mug and stir with the supplied straw.
Finally, add the lemon slice, as strictly instructed by the IBA. Alternatively, serve it with a thin slice of cucumber for a more distinctive taste.
Now, enjoy this magnificent long drink (my favorite), especially on scorching hot summer days!
