Steps for making PUFF PASTRY BREADSTICKS WITH STRACCHINO AND ZUCCHINI

  • Unroll the pastry with the longer side laid out horizontally, then with a knife spread the stracchino evenly over the top half of the pastry.

Add the grated zucchini (using the large hole of the grater) distributing them evenly as well.

  • Fold the pastry over, then using the pizza cutter wheel (or a straight-edged knife) cut strips about 0.8 inches wide.

  • Take each strip and gently twist it on itself using both hands.

Tips and Storage

The puff pastry breadsticks with stracchino and zucchini, like all snacks made with puff pastry, are best consumed on the same day, as they tend to lose their crispness over time.

If there are any leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container and slightly reheat them in the oven at 302°F for a few minutes just before serving.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • What can I substitute for stracchino?

You can substitute stracchino with another spreadable cheese such as ricotta, robiola, or Philadelphia.

  • What can I substitute for zucchini?

Instead of zucchini, you can use, for example, cooked ham or salami.

  • If I want to use a fan oven instead of a static oven, how should I proceed?

If you want to use a fan oven, lower the indicated temperature by 10-15 degrees for the same baking time.

  • Is it possible to use an air fryer?

Yes, of course. Set the temperature to 338°F and they will be ready when nicely golden.
