The air fryer roasted potatoes are a quick, light, and tasty alternative to classic oven-baked potatoes. Perfect as a side dish for meat courses or fish, they are the ideal solution, especially in summer, when turning on the oven becomes prohibitive due to high temperatures.
Why choose an air fryer?
If you have an air fryer, you can achieve crispy outside and soft inside potatoes with very little oil and in just a few simple steps. In addition to saving time, you will also reduce fat consumption, making this side dish lighter but just as tasty.
Pan or air fryer?
Before having the air fryer, I often made pan-fried roasted potatoes: a valid solution, but one that requires more oil and constant attention at the stove to prevent them from sticking or burning. With the air fryer, everything is simpler: just season the potatoes in a bowl, arrange them in the basket, and stir them only halfway through cooking.
The trick for super crispy roasted potatoes
A consistently valid tip for perfect potatoes, both in the air fryer and with other cooking methods, is to rinse them well after cutting. This removes excess starch, promoting even browning and increased crispiness.
Air fryer roasted potatoes are a smart and tasty choice for those looking for a quick, healthy, and effortless side dish. Try them today: you’ll be surprised by their ease, flavor, and crispiness!

How to Cook Roasted Potatoes in an Air Fryer
To prepare crispy air fryer roasted potatoes, start by peeling the potatoes. Then cut them into wedges (1). I recommend not making them too thick; I got 6-8 wedges from each potato (2). Once cut, place them in a colander and rinse thoroughly under running water (3). This step helps eliminate starch and make the potatoes crispier.
Drain them well and place them on a clean dish towel. Dry them thoroughly (4). Transfer them to a bowl and season with 3 pinches of salt, a grind of pepper, and the chopped rosemary. Add 2 tablespoons of oil as well (5). Mix thoroughly with your hands to distribute the seasoning evenly (6).
Line the basket of the paper. Arrange the potatoes, trying to overlap them as little as possible (7). Roast the potatoes in the air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, depending on the size of the potato wedges. Halfway through cooking, quickly open the air fryer and stir them with a spoon (8). At the end of cooking, the roasted potatoes will be pleasantly golden on the outside and soft on the inside (9).
Serve the roasted potatoes immediately as a side dish for meat or fish courses.
Storage
If there are leftovers, you can store the roasted potatoes in the refrigerator for one day. You can then briefly reheat them in the air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for a couple of minutes.
Tips and Variations
You can reduce cooking times by cutting the potatoes into smaller cubes, but don’t overdo it: the air fryer tends to dry out food, and the smaller the vegetables, the more they risk burning.
