Fruit en Papillote in the Pressure Cooker

Fruit en papillote in the pressure cooker, perfect to simply conclude a meal, ideal to serve with a scoop of ice cream.

For the realization of this recipe, we used the Lagostina Irradial Control Lagoeasy’Up, 5 L, 22 cm pressure cooker and it was immediately easy to use, with a few small tricks it became our ally in the kitchen.

Ingredients for Fruit en Papillote Cooked in the Pressure Cooker:

  • 2 large yellow apples
  • Williams pears
  • 1 orange
  • 5 dried plums (pitted)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon acacia honey
  • 1 shot sweet liqueur (optional)
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • to taste powdered sugar (optional)

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Spoon

Steps for Preparing and Cooking Fruit en Papillote:

  • Wash the apples, pears, and orange well, dry them.

    With a knife, cut the apples in half, remove the core, divide each half into two parts and then cut each slice into three pieces, continue with all available apples.

    Place them in a large bowl.

    Cut the pears in the same way as the apples, add them to the bowl with the apples.

  • Peel the orange, removing all the white part that is bitter, then divide the orange into segments and cut them in half, place them over the bowl so that the juice can be collected for the recipe.

    Add the prepared oranges to the bowl with the other fruit, add the pitted dried plums, acacia honey, and cinnamon.

    Mix the fruit well to flavor it.

  • In the pressure cooker, put 1 cup of water.

    Take the bowl line it with parchment paper leaving 2 inches of paper to overhang from the sides, fill it with the prepared fruit, close it well by rolling the two ends of the paper.

    Place the bowl in the pressure cooker also putting the provided lifting base, cover with the lid and close the pressure cooker, set the valve on the image of the pot at medium-high flame, when the red valve rises lower the gas and cook for 5 minutes.

    After time has passed, turn off the gas and let the steam out of the pot and when the red valve goes down, open the pot.

    Let the fruit cool, place it on a plate, and serve.

    Great pairing with vanilla ice cream.

Tips

If you want a sweeter preparation, add granulated sugar instead of honey and mix the fruit well.

You can use any type of fruit, during the summer season peaches, apricots, fresh plums.

If you don’t have the bowl, you can use the steaming accessory, always placing the parchment paper and then closing it well.
