Fried swirls with yogurt and jam without leavening. Super tasty treats perfect at any time of the day.
The yogurt and jam swirls are very easy to prepare. The necessary ingredients are few and we usually have them at home.
To fill the swirls I used cherry jam but you can use your favorite one.
As I mentioned, they are perfect to enjoy at any time of the day. They are really soft and I am sure they will win you over at the first bite.
The preparation is very simple, but I want to give you a tip: fry them on low heat, otherwise they will remain raw inside.
Let’s see right away how to prepare the fried swirls with yogurt and jam.

How to Prepare Fried Swirls with Yogurt and Jam
In a bowl, add the egg and two tablespoons of sugar. Mix with a fork.
Add the oil and mix with the fork.
Add and incorporate the yogurt.
Add the flour a little at a time and mix with the fork.
When the dough begins to form, add the baking powder and knead with your hands until you get a smooth and compact dough.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface. You should get a rectangle.
In a bowl, add the sugar and the grated peel of an untreated lemon. Mix.
Spread the jam on the rectangle. Do not use more than a tablespoon; otherwise, it will spill out during cooking.
Then sprinkle with sugar and lemon.
Roll up the rectangle. Near the end, slightly wet the edge to seal it. After rolling, gently press the roll with your hands.
Cut the roll into slices. I made 12 swirls.
Add the oil to a pot. Turn on the stove and let it heat (about 340 degrees Fahrenheit).
Fry the swirls. When they rise to the surface, turn them over and continue cooking. I recommend frying them on low heat; otherwise, they will remain raw inside.
Drain them and let them dry on paper towels. If you want to check out the paper towels I used, you can click here. They make fried foods dry and crispy.
If you have leftover sugar with lemon, use it on the swirls; otherwise, simply dust with powdered sugar.
Serve yourself.
