Ingredients for Apple and Cocoa Cake

  • 2 apple (350)
  • 2 cups g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup g sunflower oil
  • 3/4 cup g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup g brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp g rum (or 1 vial)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 plain yogurt

Steps for Apple and Cocoa Cake

  • Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. Place the diced pieces in a bowl with some lemon juice and set aside.

    Beat the eggs with sugar until you get a fluffy and whitish mixture.

  • While still using the electric beaters, add the yogurt (you can also use apple yogurt) and the sunflower oil.

  • After sifting the flour with cocoa and baking powder, gradually pour it in while lowering the speed of your beaters. Also add the rum (or the vial) and blend until smooth and lump-free.

  • Take the apples and add them to the mixture, gently folding with a spatula from the bottom up until they are well incorporated.

  • Pour the mixture into a baking pan lined with parchment paper. I used a rectangular mold. Level the surface and sprinkle with brown sugar.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F and let cook for about 45 minutes. Always adjust according to your oven: before removing from the oven, do the toothpick test. Once cooked, let it cool before serving.
