Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan

The Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan are a main course that is really easy and very quick to prepare, because cooking them only takes 10 minutes. Instead of a single type of minced meat, I prefer a mix, preferably beef and pork as I find it much tastier. In any case, feel free to prepare your hamburgers with the type of meat you like best. Not only are they very practical in the kitchen, but they are also delicious when prepared during a barbecue and served with various types of sauces: truly excellent. Avoid overcooking them by sticking to the times I’ve indicated, as being very lean they risk becoming tough. I want to remind you that pork is also red meat, so you can eat it pink. If you prefer longer cooking, then let your trusted butcher prepare your mixed mince with a little fat.

If you like quickly cooked or even raw meat, then you can’t miss the following recipes:

Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 people
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1.3 lbs minced beef and pork
  • 1 cup onion, preferably red
  • 1 cup coarsely grated parmesan
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Tools

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Plate
  • 1 Chopping board
  • 1 Knife

Preparation

Remove the skin from the onion and chop it into pieces with a sharp knife. Pour the mixed minced meat into a large bowl and immediately add the onion, coarsely grated parmesan, and salt.

Mix well with your hands so that all the ingredients are combined evenly. At this point, take portions of the mixture and shape them into large meatballs, then flatten them to create a kind of mini hamburger. As you prepare them, place them on a plate.

Put the extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick skillet, heat it up, and place the hamburgers on top. Cook for 5 minutes on each side, maintaining a medium-high heat, and occasionally press them with a spatula to cook them better, as the cooking will be very fast.

After this time, plate them and drizzle with the cooking juices so that all the flavor is not lost.

Serve our Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan hot, but not before decorating them with chives. Of course, this is just my suggestion.

Tips and Storage

The onion hamburgers can be stored for at least two days in the refrigerator, either raw or cooked, as long as they are placed in an airtight container.

Be sure to use ceramic or glass containers because plastic is harmful.

You can also freeze them, but remember to defrost them in the refrigerator as you do with all foods.
