Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan

The Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan are a really easy and quick second course to prepare because even the cooking only takes 10 minutes. Instead of just one type of minced meat, I prefer a mix, preferably beef and pork because I find it much more flavorful. In any case, feel free to prepare your hamburgers with the type of meat you like best. Not only are they very practical in the kitchen, but also delicious if prepared during a barbecue and served with various sauces: really excellent. Avoid overcooking them by sticking to the times I’ve indicated, because being very lean, they might become tough in the end. I want to remind you that pork is also red meat, so you can eat it pink. If you prefer a longer cooking time, then let your trusted butcher prepare your mixed mince with a bit of fat.

If you like meat with quick cooking, or even raw, then you can’t miss the next recipes:

Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 people
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 21.16 oz minced beef and pork
  • 3.53 oz onion, preferably red
  • 4.23 oz coarsely grated Parmesan
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Tools

  • 1 Frying Pan
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Plate
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Knife

Preparation

Remove the skin from the onion and chop it into small pieces with a sharp knife. Pour the mixed minced meat into a large bowl and immediately add the onion, the coarsely grated Parmesan, and the salt.

Mix well with your hands to combine all the ingredients evenly. At this point, take portions of the mixture and shape them into large meatballs, then flatten them to create a sort of mini hamburger. As you prepare them, place them on a plate.

Put the extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick frying pan, heat it, and place the hamburgers on top. Cook for 5 minutes on each side, always keeping a medium-high flame and press them occasionally with a spatula for better cooking, since it will be very quick.

After this time, plate them and drizzle with the cooking juices so that all the flavor is not lost.

Serve our Hamburgers with Onion and Parmesan, very hot but not before decorating them with chives. Obviously, this is just a suggestion of mine.

Tips and Storage

The onion hamburgers can be stored for at least two days in the refrigerator both raw and cooked, but it’s important to put them in an airtight container.

Please use ceramic or glass containers because plastic is really bad.

You can also freeze them but remember to thaw them in the refrigerator as you would with all foods.
