Quick dessert for Sunday or last-minute treat? This millefoglie with puff pastry is perfect! It’s made in a few steps, no baking required, and it’s so creamy it disappears in no time. I made it with a light cream of mascarpone, whipped cream, and stracciatella yogurt, but you can customize it with flavors you like.
It’s a fresh, delicious, and clever dessert: no base to bake, just ready-made puff pastry and a cream that whips up in minutes. And if you want an original twist, try it with pistachio or coffee yogurt.

Ingredients for millefoglie with puff pastry

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 2.12 oz mascarpone
  • 2.12 oz yogurt (I used stracciatella flavor)
  • 4.41 oz sweet puff pastries
  • 1.41 oz dark chocolate chips

What you need to prepare millefoglie with puff pastry

  • Electric Whisk
  • Plate

How to prepare millefoglie with puff pastry

  • 1. In a bowl, pour the very cold cream and mascarpone. Begin whipping with an electric whisk, and as soon as the mixture thickens, add the yogurt. Continue whipping until you obtain a smooth, compact, and stable cream.
    2. Add the chocolate chips and gently mix with a spatula.
    3. Take a rectangular serving plate. Spread a spoonful of cream on the base (this helps the puff pastries stick better).
    4. Arrange a row of puff pastries (set aside a couple for the final decoration), then spread half of the cream.
    5. Continue with the second row of puff pastries and distribute the remaining cream on top, smoothing the surface well with a spatula.
    6. Coarsely crumble the reserved puff pastries and distribute them on the surface along with a few chocolate chips.
    7. Our millefoglie is ready to be served!

Storage

You can store it in the refrigerator for up to one day. I recommend preparing it shortly before serving so that the puff pastries retain their crunchiness.

How to serve millefoglie with puff pastry

Keep it in the fridge until serving time, so the cream stays compact and fresh.
You can dust a little cocoa powder or powdered sugar before serving for an elegant touch.
If you want to make it more scenic, add fresh fruit (like raspberries or strawberry slices) or a drizzle of melted chocolate.
Serve on a rectangular dessert plate with a decorative spoon or spatula: a feast for the eyes too!

Susy’s Tip

You can substitute mascarpone with well-drained ricotta or Philadelphia. For a different flavor, try coffee, pistachio, or dark chocolate yogurt!

Questions and Answers

  • Can I prepare millefoglie in advance?

Yes! I recommend preparing it a few hours before and keeping it in the fridge until serving time. However, it’s best enjoyed within 24 hours to maintain the puff pastry’s crunchiness.

  • Is the recipe suitable for children?

Absolutely yes! It’s perfect for a special snack or an easy treat to prepare together with them.

  • Can I use other cookies instead of puff pastries?

Yes, but the final result will change in consistency and taste. Puff pastries remain the best option for this quick and no-bake millefoglie.
