Cookie Masks – Carnival Recipe

How time flies, dang it: yesterday I was preparing the cotechino and now we’re already in the middle of Carnival… it’s not fair, huh!!!
Amidst all the fried treats typical of the Carnival season popping up everywhere, today to avoid being too caloric, I made a shortcrust pastry and with the molds I got I made these crispy and delicious masks!

On some, I added sprinkles, on others some decoration with royal icing, but most of them I left plain, adding a bit of powdered sugar just before eating them.

They are cute, I must say these molds for making masks (which I’ll list among the recipe tools) are just perfect and the shortcrust pastry shapes beautifully without smudging or anything – highly recommended!

A simple yet impressive little sweet, I believe!

In this 2025, Carnival starts on February 16 and ends on March 4, Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent.
