Ingredients

  • 1 lbs chicken (thighs or drumsticks)
  • 10.5 oz potatoes
  • 1 shallot (or half onion)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • Half cup white wine
  • Half tsp hot paprika (or smoked)
  • herbs (oregano, thyme, parsley or others)
  • chili pepper (to taste)
  • 1 ladle meat broth (or hot water)
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Tools

  • Pan
  • Cutting Board
  • Potato Peeler

Preparation

  • Wash and dry the chicken; you can remove the skin if you prefer or leave it on.

Rub the surface with a mixture of paprika and dried herbs (thyme, oregano, marjoram, parsley, or others). To help the flavors penetrate, you can make cuts in the meat with a sharp knife.

  • Heat a pan with a little oil. Place the chicken in it and brown it on all sides (1).

Add the white wine and let it evaporate.

  • Peel and chop the shallot, then add it to the pan.

Next, add the tomato paste dissolved in a ladle of broth or hot water (2).

Finally, add the potatoes, previously peeled and cut into wedges (3).

  • Season with salt, cover, and cook for 30-40 minutes, or until both the potatoes and the meat are well cooked. If necessary, add a little more broth to the base.

To your taste, you can add a pinch of chili pepper, depending on the spiciness of the paprika you used.

  • The devil-style chicken is ready; serve it hot with the potatoes and cooking sauce… enjoy your meal!
