Ingredients for Melon Liqueur

  • 1.1 lbs melon (pulp)
  • 1.3 cups pure alcohol
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water

How to prepare Melon Liqueur

  • Clean the melon by removing the rind, seeds, and inner fibers. For the liqueur, you need about 500 grams of melon pulp. Cut the pulp into cubes and transfer them into a large jar. Cover with alcohol, close the jar, and let it macerate in a cool, dark place for a week, stirring once a day.

  • After a week, blend the alcohol and melon mixture and then strain it through a fine-mesh sieve. Prepare a syrup in a saucepan with water and sugar by bringing it to a boil. Turn off the heat and let it cool.

  • Mix the water and sugar syrup with the strained alcohol and melon. Transfer the liqueur to glass bottles and store the Melon Liqueur in the fridge or freezer. It’s better to wait 15 days before tasting it, although it’s already excellent just prepared
