Apple and Almond Crumble

Apple and almond crumble with lots of cinnamon, really delicious and very fragrant. It’s true that in summer the oven isn’t often used, but sometimes it is. I often take advantage of the times when the preparation requires using the oven, cooking one or two things doesn’t make a difference, like parmigiana or tomatoes with rice prepared in summer. So I organize myself to bake several things at once that don’t require different timing, or opening the oven door doesn’t compromise the success of the dessert like leavened ones. A quick shortcrust pastry takes very little to prepare, a couple of apples and some almonds and the Apple and almond Crumble is soon done.

Ingredients to prepare the crumble

FOR THE FILLING

  • 4 Golden apples
  • 3/4 cup almonds
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 7 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Preparation

  • Cut the apples into squares after peeling them. Add the lemon, sugar, and cinnamon and sauté in a pan for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the crumble with cold butter and flour with sugar; mix everything with your fingertips, no need to compact the dough, in fact, crumble it.

  • Divide the apples and chopped almonds into cocottes or a single baking dish. Place the cold-from-the-fridge crumble evenly over the apples.

  • Put it in the oven at 375°F and bake for 20 minutes.
