The walnut shortcrust tart with jam is a simple, rustic, and delicious baked dessert. Filled with jam or preserves like the most classic tarts, it stands out due to its base made of a very crumbly and buttery walnut shortcrust shell. Additionally, to make it a perfect dessert for winter and Christmas, we decided to decorate it with many snowflakes, making this tart not only delicious but also visually stunning and beautiful with minimal effort. Indeed, simple snowflake cookie cutters of different sizes will help create many flakes to decorate our tart.
The preparation is very simple: first, prepare the walnut shortcrust by simply mixing all the ingredients in the food processor until a homogeneous dough is obtained. Roll out three-quarters of the dough with a rolling pin and line a pre-buttered and floured tart pan. Fill generously with jam or preserves and decorate the tart with many snowflake-shaped cookies. Bake the tart in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 40 minutes.
This walnut shortcrust tart with jam is ideal for breakfast and snacks every day. However, it is so beautiful that it becomes perfect to serve as a dessert for festive days!

You can store the tart for up to a week.
You can decorate the tart using other shapes like stars or hearts, or in the classic way by placing strips on the tart.
We used strawberry jam, but you can use any preserves you prefer, such as raspberry, mixed berries, apricot, apple, pear, or even orange.
Alternatively to jam, you can use spreadable creams like Nutella or pistachio or almond paste.
