How to store fresh basil, simple, among the many ways I prefer it frozen like this, ready for use when needed. When the seasonal basil, the one produced in super abundance during the summer months, is gone, you can store it in an extremely easy way before production ends. Let’s start with little tricks at zero cost, bringing a memory of summer inside bags. I have several preservation methods, but this is definitely my favorite!

Ingredients
- 3.5 oz basil
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Tools
- Chopper
- 2 Plastic Bags
- 1 Bowl
- Salad Spinner
Preparation
Organic basil, practically from my garden.
I usually use baking soda to wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, except for those from my garden.
Wash and quickly dry the basil.
I used my chopper, placed the basil inside, and poured the oil on top.
I blended the basil for 30 seconds, just enough to make it a soft cream.
I then poured it into molds, I used those in the shape of a star, but you can use the molds as you like.
Leave them in the freezer overnight.
Remove them from the freezer.
Then quickly place them in a bag.
This way they are nice and portioned for when needed.
