  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Half packet instant yeast for savory recipes
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water

How to Prepare Quick Skillet Flatbreads Without Yeast

  • Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Start mixing with the fork, then continue kneading by hand until you get a homogeneous dough ball.

  • Roll out the dough with the rolling pin on a lightly floured surface.

  • Cut the flatbreads with a cookie cutter. You can choose the size. If you wish to see my cookie cutter set, click here. I’ve had it for several years, it’s a very cute all-fuchsia set. And it’s perfect for cookies too.

  • Grease a non-stick skillet with a thick bottom with a little olive oil and place the flatbreads inside. (Of course, you will need to cook a few at a time).

  • On each flatbread, put a bit of tomato sauce and, if you like, some oregano. Cover the skillet with the lid and let them cook over low flame for about 10 minutes. Please check the cooking times.

  • If you want to prepare them plain, let them cook for 5 minutes, then flip them and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.

  • Serve yourself.
