Ingredients for Puff Pastry Swirls with Jam

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 jar mixed berry jam
  • to taste powdered sugar

Steps for Puff Pastry Swirls with Jam

  • To prepare the puff pastry swirls with jam, you only need a rectangular sheet of puff pastry. Naturally, with just one sheet, you’ll get a few, so maybe use two sheets. You can also skip the jam and replace it with Nutella, depending on your taste. Today I preferred to finish some jam I had open in the fridge. So, that said, unroll the puff pastry keeping it on the provided parchment paper and cut it in half.

  • Spread half of the rectangle with jam, reaching about 1/3 inch from the outer edges.

    Using the paper as a guide, overlap the two pastry rectangles and press lightly with your palm to adhere them well and release any air bubbles.

  • With a knife, or a pizza cutter, cut strips about 1/3 inch wide. Twist each strip onto itself and then shape them into swirls by rolling the strips into a spiral.

  • Place the swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, well spaced apart. Bake in a preheated fan oven at 340°F for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown. It always depends on your oven’s power.

  • After the time has passed, let them cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
