  • almonds (to taste)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1 packet baking powder

HOW TO MAKE THE APPLE CAKE WITHOUT EGGS AND WITHOUT KNEADING

  • PREPARING THE APPLES: Peel the apples and grate them with a coarse grater, place them in a bowl, squeeze the juice of half a lemon and grate the zest, mix and set aside.

    PREPARING THE DRY INGREDIENTS: Sift the flours with the baking powder and add a bit of cinnamon

    COMPLETING THE CAKE: Line a pan about 9 inches with a sheet of parchment paper, add a portion of the dry ingredients to the pan, level with a spoon, add a portion of the grated apples, level well, make another layer with the dry ingredients and then the apples again, you should finish with the dry ingredients. Using a skewer, make holes all over the surface of the cake. Melt the butter in the milk and let it cool, then pour it over the entire surface of the cake, letting it fall into the holes, sprinkle with granulated sugar, powdered sugar, and cinnamon, then add almonds and bake at 350°F for about 35 minutes, but adjust based on your oven and do the toothpick test as it may take a few more minutes.
