Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (round)
  • 2 apples
  • 5 tablespoons jam
  • to taste cinnamon
  • to taste lemon juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • to taste powdered sugar (for dusting)

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 356°F

  • Peel the apples, remove the core, and dice them.

    Place them in a bowl and add lemon juice to prevent the apples from oxidizing.

  • Unroll the puff pastry and place it with its parchment paper in a round baking pan.

  • Place the bowl in the center of the flattened dough. Spread the jam and add the drained apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.

  • Remove the bowl and make 4 cuts on the free circle to obtain 8 wedges as in the photo.

  • Fold each wedge toward the edge of the pan and seal with your hands.

  • Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

  • Bake for about 25/30 minutes until golden.

  • Remove from oven and let cool.

  • Transfer the cake to a round cutting board or a serving plate and dust with powdered sugar.
