Tips and Variations
Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the rings or the size of the leeks.
You can use stale bread, sliced bread, sandwich loaf, or any bread you have available. You can omit the cheese if you don’t like it.
You can add the herbs you prefer, either fresh or dried: parsley, thyme, oregano, marjoram, rosemary, etc.
If you don’t want to steam, you can sauté the leeks in a pan with a drizzle of oil and a splash of water until they are tender.
