Vegan Chocolate and Coconut Squares

Ingredients for Vegan Chocolate and Coconut Squares:
- 1 2/3 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 3 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- rum flavoring
- vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups coconut milk
- 1 1/4 cups grated coconut
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable margarine
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- vanilla
Steps
The preparation of vegan chocolate and coconut squares is very simple and quick, watch the video HERE.
Basic preparation:
In a bowl, put the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and mix. Add a bit of rum flavoring and vanilla,
Add the oil, water, and mix. Put the mixture obtained in a floured 11×11 inch mold. Sprinkle and level.
Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
Cream preparation:
In a small pan, put the sugar, starch, coconut milk and mix to avoid the formation of lumps. Add a bit of vanilla and bring to the heat to thicken
stirring constantly. Once thickened, turn off the heat and add the margarine, mix to melt it well. Finally, add the grated coconut and mix.
Place the obtained cream on the cooked and cooled base. Sprinkle and level, then let it rest for a few hours. Once the cream has set, sprinkle a bit of grated coconut on top
cut into pieces of the desired size.
