Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • as needed powdered sugar
  • 1 lemon (zest + juice)

Steps

  • Peel and squeeze the lemon. Filter the juice and set it aside.

    Pour the sugar into the food processor and add the lemon zest.

    Blend until pulverized.

  • Put the flour in a large glass bowl and add the softened butter, baking powder, lemon juice, and flavored sugar.

  • Knead until all ingredients are combined.

  • Add the dark chocolate chips and continue kneading.

  • Form a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Let it rest in the fridge for about half an hour.

  • After this time, preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Take the dough from the fridge and form balls about the size of a walnut.

  • Roll them in powdered sugar and place them on the baking sheet, making sure to space them about 3/4 inch apart.

  • Bake for about 12-15 minutes.

  • Remove from oven and let cool before serving.

Storage and Tips …

Store in a tin box or covered with a cake dome.
