Caramelized Figs with Pistachio Crumble

Caramelized Figs with Pistachio Crumble are delicious, easy to prepare, and take very little time. For this recipe, choose ripe but firm figs, as they will otherwise dissolve during cooking, similar to making jam. If they are large, cut them into 4 wedges, otherwise into two, or leave them whole if they are very small. The color does not matter, but I preferred dark ones because I put them on bread crostini with cheese: This way I achieved a color contrast. Delicious with cheese, also with cured meats, and excellent on their own on hot bruschetta. You can substitute agave syrup with honey if you can’t find it, but choose a delicate one otherwise you may lose the flavor of the fig.

Here are two very simple and delicious recipes, always suitable for accompanying your appetizers

How to Prepare Caramelized Figs with Pistachio Crumble

Thoroughly but gently wash the figs under running water to remove any impurities and dry them well with paper towels.

Cut them into 4 or in half depending on their size, and place them in a baking dish.

Sprinkle the agave syrup, pistachio crumble, and fresh oregano leaves over them.

Finally, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil and bake, but in a preheated oven at 350°F.

Bake for about 15/20 minutes, or until they have softened but not fallen apart, maintaining some consistency, and let them cool.

Serve your Caramelized Figs with Pistachio Crumble with cheese, cured meats, or simply spread over bread crostini.
