This Tiramisu dome cake is a fresh, delicious, no-bake dessert that is really quick to prepare..

Great to serve as an after-dinner dessert or as a delicious snack.

A simple and quick dessert to prepare, perfect when you have little time but want to keep a dessert ready in case of unexpected guests.

The recipe proposed here is a reinterpretation of the classic Florentine dome-shaped dessert, with the ricotta filling replaced by an excellent cream made with heavy cream, mascarpone, and coffee.

It’s without raw eggs; if you don’t want to use ladyfingers, you can also use sponge cake or even leftover pandoro.

The ladyfingers soaked in coffee and arranged in a simple glass bowl give the dessert a really scenic shape, perfect for serving on truly special occasions.

No need for special molds, I used a classic glass bowl.

This dessert is ideal for special occasions, great to prepare all year round, fresh and creamy.

Ingredients

Tiramisu Dome Cake

  • 14.1 oz ladyfingers
  • 6 espresso cups coffee (sweetened to taste)
  • 17.6 oz mascarpone
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4.2 oz sugar (or erythritol)

Tools

  • Bowl
  • Electric Whisks
  • Food Wraps

Steps

Tiramisu Dome Cake

  • After you’ve prepared the coffee, add a few tablespoons of sugar and let it cool completely before using it.

Line a bowl, 9 inches in diameter, with plastic wrap; this way you’ll be facilitated when you need to remove the dessert from the bowl.

(Let the film protrude from the mold’s edges, be generous with the amount used, so it will be easier to unmold the dome once ready).

Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee, just enough to soften them a bit, and place them on the entire surface of the mold.

Arrange them to cover the inner walls of the dome, always placing them next to each other. Press them lightly against the mold, so they take the shape, and don’t worry, they won’t break.

“Once soaked they become soft enough to arrange as we want.”

  • Now take care of the cream: whip the liquid cream well chilled with electric whisks, then place it in the fridge.

Take the mascarpone (If the mascarpone has some preservation liquid, drain it) and transfer it into a large bowl, add the sugar and beat with the whisks, obtaining a very smooth cream.

Retrieve the cream from the fridge and incorporate it into the mascarpone cream with a spatula, making gentle upward movements to avoid deflating everything.

  • Once the entire dome is lined with ladyfingers, take the cream from the fridge and fill the inside almost halfway, then make a layer of soaked ladyfingers, and pour the remaining cream, level well, and finish with a final layer of soaked ladyfingers.

  • Now cover the dome with plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge overnight, or for at least 6 hours.

I usually prepare it deliberately the night before, so it sets well.

  • Once well set, gently remove the surface wrap and turn the dome mold over a serving plate, gently unmolding it from the mold.

Once unmolded, gently remove the plastic wrap.

All that’s left is to whip the cream with powdered sugar and spread it all over the dome’s surface, using a spatula or a kitchen spatula.

Tips

Dust with cocoa powder just before serving your tiramisu cake.

If you like, you can add some chocolate chips.

Since cocoa tends to absorb moisture, it would become dark and wet in the fridge, ruining the aesthetic effect of the dessert.

If you want to make the eggless tiramisu suitable for those who are allergic to eggs, just replace the ladyfingers with vegan ones.

You can keep the tiramisu dome in the fridge for a couple of days in an airtight container. You can freeze it, maybe already divided into single portions, and keep it for a month.

When serving it, just leave it at room temperature for a couple of hours.
