Ingredients
- 8 leaves chard (stalks)
- 4 slices cooked ham
- to taste cheese (Fontina, smoked cheese or similar)
- to taste flour
- 1 egg
- to taste breadcrumbs
- extra virgin olive oil

- 1 Cutting board
- Paper towels
- 1 Baking tray

Steps
First, clean the chard: remove the white part, (but don’t throw it away, you can use it to make these delicious Vegetarian Steaks), and rinse them under running water. Then, bring slightly salted water to a boil in a pot and cook them whole for about 3 – 4 minutes, then let them dry on a cutting board covered with kitchen paper.
Once dry, place half a slice of cooked ham and a few slices of cheese (I used Fontina) on each leaf, fold the edges inside and the tip.
Roll starting from the white part and secure with a toothpick.
Dip the rolls first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 375°F.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper, lightly grease it with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with a handful of breadcrumbs, and arrange the rolls inside. Spray them with a bit of oil and bake in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
