The recipe for apple treats for FIDO the dog was born almost as a summer bet made on the beach with my sisters, brother-in-law, and his sisters.
We talked about the blog, how it’s going, what recipes you make, and I complained a little because in the summer interactions with people drop a lot, especially on FB, and almost as a joke, they suggested diversifying the publication targets, maybe making baby food or food for dogs and cats!
Honestly, I was a little puzzled because children, in terms of their psychology, behaviors, progress, language acquisition, and much more, I studied at the university. And even though I had a child, I have no idea where I put the first baby food recipes!
I also know from talking with other moms that the approach to weaning has changed a lot compared to what was done for my son Andrea, who is now grown up, and frankly, I see myself a little out of serious commitment on this topic!
Dogs? Cats?? But I thought, I could learn what ingredients are allowed and get to know this world I’m completely ignorant of, having only FOR NOW a lot of plush dogs and cats!
THE NUTRITION AND HEALTH OF OUR DOG requires strictly adhering to a specific list of approved ingredients for animal nutrition , as some foods are to be completely avoided because they are toxic and indigestible!
Forget all about chocolate, nuts, and grapes, but also onions, garlic, raw eggs (but yes to hard-boiled), raw potatoes, raw fish, avocados, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggplants, and all overly salty and sweet foods!
Green light for vegetables like carrots, spinach, peas, celery, and green beans, but also potatoes, oats, rice, and pasta.
Most dogs are lactose intolerant, so it’s necessary to use lactose-free foods or plant-based drinks, and cereals should be avoided, possibly replaced by regular and sweet potatoes.
NOW LET’S GET TO THE APPLE TREATS RECIPE FOR FIDO, the house puppy!
I’m sorry, I don’t have other recipes for dogs…
I indicated 30 pieces, but it depends on the thickness and the mold, and honestly, mine is too small!

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE APPLE TREATS RECIPE FOR FIDO the dog
I beat the egg with the small amount of olive oil indicated just above with a fork.
I wash and peel the apple and grate it finely, then add it to the mix just made.
I now add the rice flour little by little, always mixing to get a non-sticky dough that I then rolled out between two sheets of baking paper.
I had among thousands these molds and made these treats, taking care to “dip” the molds in the rice flour as I went along to facilitate extraction later…
I place them on the baking sheet lined with special paper and bake for 10/15 minutes at 356°F static.
Once ready and well cooled, we can offer them to our FIDO!
