Romanian sweet ravioli with jam

A typical Romanian recipe that can be made with various fillings, today I chose to fill them with jam but they can also be filled with chocolate, ricotta, etc. The ravioli are boiled and then passed in toasted breadcrumbs with butter and sugar! I must say that when I was little and my mother made them, I was super happy!

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • salt
  • 1 egg
  • vanilla
  • jam
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsps butter

  • Dough preparation:

    In a bowl, put the flour, a pinch of salt, the egg, a bit of vanilla, the milk, and knead. We must obtain a homogeneous dough then cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for a few minutes.

  • After a few minutes, roll out the dough and cut out circles using a pastry cutter. Form the ravioli using the mold or without. Put a little jam in the center

  • close them. Remove the excess dough. Bring the water to a boil, add a little salt, a drizzle of oil, and the ravioli

  • cook for a few minutes.

    In a pan, melt the butter, add the breadcrumbs, and cook for a few minutes.

  • Add the sugar and cook for another 1/2 min. Once they are ready, drain them and coat them in the breadcrumbs.

  • Enjoy your meal!
