Ingredients for Baked Breaded Cheese

  • 4.4 oz fresh cheese (such as linea or primo sale in one piece)
  • 2.5 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chives (dried)
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Preparation of Baked Breaded Cheese

  • Beat the egg in a bowl for a few seconds and set aside.

  • In two separate bowls, place the flour in one and the breadcrumbs with salt, chives, onion, sweet paprika, and garlic in the other, and mix to combine.

  • Open the cheese package and drain the liquid inside (I used a fresh and light lactose-free cheese), coat it in the flour on top, bottom, and sides.

  • Then pass the cheese in the beaten egg and then in the flavored breadcrumbs (making sure to cover the entire surface, including the edges), repeat this process 2 more times to have a triple breading, place the breaded cheese in a non-stick pan or one lined with parchment paper.

  • Preheat the oven to 428°F and when it is very hot, drizzle some oil on top of the cheese and bake, cook for 15 minutes, turning halfway through! If you love a melty center, serve hot; otherwise, it’s also excellent warm with a firmer center! Enjoy your meal!

  • If you love chili, you can add some dried chili on top just after taking the baked breaded cheese out of the oven!
