Ingredients for Baked Breaded Cheese

  • 4.4 oz fresh cheese (like line or primo sale in one piece)
  • 2.5 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chives (dried)
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Preparation of Baked Breaded Cheese

  • Beat the egg in a bowl for a few seconds and set aside.

  • In two separate bowls, place the flour in one and the breadcrumbs with salt, chives, onion, sweet paprika, and garlic in the other, and mix to combine.

  • Open the cheese package and drain the liquid inside (I used fresh and lactose-free light cheese), coat it with flour on the top, bottom, and sides.

  • Then dip the cheese in the beaten egg and subsequently in the seasoned breadcrumbs (making sure to cover the entire surface, including the sides), repeat this operation 2 more times to have a triple breading, place the breaded cheese on a non-stick baking pan or one with parchment paper.

  • Preheat the oven to 428°F, and when it’s very hot, drizzle a little oil on top of the cheese and bake, cooking for 15 minutes, turning halfway through! If you love a melty heart, serve hot, otherwise, it’s also excellent warm with a firmer heart! Enjoy your meal!

  • If you love chili peppers, you can add some dried ones on top just after baking the breaded cheese!
