Ingredients for the Savory Pie with Cheesy Croissants

  • 2 rolls puff pastry (round)
  • 1.8 oz latteria cheese (or Asiago)
  • 3 eggs
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham
  • 2.8 oz stracchino (or robiola)

Preparation

  • Unroll a roll of puff pastry and with its parchment paper, arrange it inside a tart pan.

    Prick the base with the tines of a fork.

  • Unroll the second puff pastry and cut it into 8 wedges, cut the cheese into 8 strips as wide as each pastry wedge.

  • Place a piece of cheese on each wedge of pastry and roll it up to form a croissant.

  • Beat the eggs with a fork, and if you like, add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper or your choice of herbs.

    I didn’t add salt because the cheese and ham are already very flavorful.

  • Arrange the croissants along the entire edge of the pastry, making the points meet to avoid leaving empty spaces.
