EASTER PIZZA COLOMBA appetizer simple to prepare, quick with ready pizza dough, a tasty idea also for Easter Monday.
If you are looking for a tasty and simple appetizer, you can prepare the pizza colomba, a simple dough, even ready, and a paper mold, let it rest, and it’s ready to bake and serve.
The recipe for pizza colomba is very simple, mine is without filling, but you can enrich it with cold cuts and provola or vegetables, whatever you prefer. Once the dough is ready and rested, place the various balls in the mold and let it rise straight in the oven.
For those who are not practical or don’t have time or simply don’t want to bother, you can get ready pizza dough from the supermarket’s fridge section.
Follow me in the kitchen today, here’s the pizza colomba.

Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups water
- 0.28 oz fresh yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- tomato sauce
- dried oregano
Steps
Dissolve the yeast in the water.
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the water a little at a time, mix, then add the salt and knead well.
Shape into a rectangle, fold the short side towards the center, cover with the other short side, form a ball and let it rest until doubled, about 3 hours.
Once risen, take the dough and divide it into pieces, form a first ball and place it at the top of the 1.5-2.2 lbs mold and make the others until it is completely filled.
If you prefer, you can fill each ball with provola or cold cuts.
Let it rest for 20-30 minutes, then preheat the oven to 392°F, brush the savory colomba with tomato sauce, oil, and oregano.
Bake and cook for about 20-25 minutes.
