You can store the meat roll skewers in the fridge well closed in an airtight container for one or two days.
You can also cook the rolls in the oven by placing them in a baking dish or on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper, drizzling them with oil at 392°F for about 20-25 minutes, or in an air fryer for 15 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. If you opt for these cooking methods, you can also coat them with oil and breadcrumbs to give them extra crunchiness.
You can enrich the filling, for example, with slices of cooked ham, pancetta, speck, or mortadella, or use other cheeses like smoked scamorza, provola, Asiago, Emmental, Pecorino, or grated Parmesan. Additionally, you can also use vegetables for the filling, such as already blanched spinach or Swiss chard, grilled zucchini, peppers, or eggplants, sautéed mushrooms, etc.
