Spicy sweet potatoes in air fryer, a simple and delicious side dish that is ready in less than 30 minutes.
Sweet potatoes (or batatas) are not tubers as one might think, but tuberous roots related to carrots, celeriac, and beets. Due to this, their glycemic index is much lower than that of potatoes and they cook much faster.
To make this original and tasty side dish, simply cut the batata into sticks and season them with the required ingredients. Cooking them in the air fryer will make them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and it will only take you fifteen minutes.

Start preparing the spicy sweet potatoes in air fryer by peeling the batata and cutting it into sticks. Mine was quite large, weighing about 500g (about 1 lb 2 oz), and I used just one.
Season the batata sticks with salt and black pepper. Add smoked paprika and garlic powder. Give it an initial mix, add the extra virgin olive oil, and mix again until everything is well combined.
Preheat the air fryer to 392°F (200°C).
Transfer the sweet potatoes to the basket without adding baking sheets or parchment paper.Cook the spicy sweet potatoes in the air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, stirring them well halfway through cooking.
Serve immediately with chopped chives and salt flakes if desired.
