Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5.5 tbsps butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup ricotta
  • 1/2 cup Nutella®
  • 1 egg

Steps

  • Pour the flour into a bowl or onto a work surface, add the baking powder, salt, sugar, egg, and pieces of butter, knead well.

  • Divide the dough into two parts, one for the base and the other for the topping strips.

  • Roll out and place the base in a 8-9 inch pan.

  • Mix the ricotta with the nutella and the egg, I didn’t add extra sugar, you can if you prefer.

  • Pour the mixture into the crust, cut strips and arrange them on the filling, criss-crossing each other.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 365°F for about 40-45 minutes, perform a toothpick test before removing from the oven, it should come out dry or slightly damp and not soft.

  • Let it cool, dust with powdered sugar, and cut.
