Since the temperature has dropped and it’s not so hot anymore, I decided to prepare a more autumnal dessert, I’m talking about Sweet Milk Rice. This dessert is really very simple to make, it’s an ancient spoon dessert made with few ingredients, for a breakfast or a snack. Today you can enrich the recipe with fresh fruit, with chocolate or various sauces, such as cherry or caramel or berries. A genuine and simple dessert to make, if you have time take a look at these other recipes you can find below.

Sweet Milk Rice Ingredients
- 4 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 lemon (optional peel)
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder
- to taste chocolate chips (for decoration)
- 1 bar chocolate (to grate over the bowls)
Sweet Milk Rice Steps
For this recipe, I recommend using either Carnaroli rice or Arborio rice. Then proceed by putting the milk, the sugar, and the rice in a pot. If you like, you can also add a lemon peel and vanilla seeds,
As soon as the milk starts to boil, lower the flame and let it cook for 35 minutes, stirring so that the rice does not stick to the bottom.
The rice should break down into a cream; at this point, remove the lemon peel, taste it, and if it’s still hard, continue cooking while stirring.
When the sweet milk rice is ready, add a pinch of cinnamon, stir, and fill bowls with the mixture.
Decorate the bowls with chocolate chips and grated dark chocolate. This dessert can be served hot, warm, or even cold. For a different breakfast or snack. You can replace whole milk with partially skimmed milk or vegetable milk (soy, coconut, or rice milk).
To make this dessert even tastier and softer, you can add whipped cream once cooked and cooled.
