Stuffed Minced Meat Tarts

Stuffed Minced Meat Tarts are nothing more than beef hamburgers filled with melting cheese and topped with a tomato and pepper sauce baked in the oven.

A tasty second course to enjoy hamburgers in a different and delightful way, which you can further enrich by adding not only mozzarella but also thin slices of cooked ham.

We used single-serving tart molds and they are just right for serving the Stuffed Minced Meat Tarts one per person.

If you want an extra idea, instead of topping them with pepper sauce, you can make some béchamel, sprinkling it just before taking them out of the oven so it heats up without burning.

Ingredients for Stuffed Minced Meat Tarts

  • 28 oz ground beef (or mixed beef and pork)
  • 1 egg (large)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 pinches salt
  • to taste black pepper (ground)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (fresh, chopped)
  • 7 oz mozzarella (fior di latte)
  • 9 oz tomato puree
  • Half small onion
  • 1 red bell pepper

Preparation of Stuffed Minced Meat Tarts

  • Preparing the tarts is quick and easy, and you can customize them by adding, if you want, some bread soaked in milk.

  • Place the minced meat, egg, and half of the breadcrumbs in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon.

  • Add the chopped parsley, season with paprika, salt, and pepper, and mix again to flavor everything.

  • Let it rest for 20 minutes and in the meantime, chop the onion and let it wilt in a pan with a little oil, then add the pepper cut into strips.

  • Cook for 10 minutes, then incorporate the tomato puree and let it simmer until the sauce is ready.

  • Preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C) static mode, then oil and sprinkle the molds with the remaining breadcrumbs.

  • Divide the minced meat into 8 pieces, then line each of the 4 molds with a portion of the mixture, pressing it well.

  • Stuff with mozzarella slices (if you want, add cooked ham) and cover with more minced meat, adhering well to the edges.

  • Cook the tarts on the lowest shelf of the oven for 15 minutes, take them out, sprinkle the pepper sauce on top, and bake for another 5 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes before gently removing them from the molds, and serve.

  • You can serve them with sandy potatoes.

How to Store Stuffed Minced Meat Tarts

You can store them in the refrigerator for 2 days.

If you prefer, they can also be frozen.
