I cooked my peeled prawns with lemon or orange in the air fryer, they’re tasty and light like grilled and tender and succulent inside.
The quick marinade with lemon juice or orange juice makes them particularly fragrant.

Ingredients
- 12 prawns
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch mixed peppercorns (with grinder)

Preparation
If the prawns are frozen/thawed, wait until they are soft enough to clean them easily without breaking.
Gently separate the heads from the bodies.Do not discard the heads: set them aside as a base for a possible broth with prawn heads or prawn sauce.
Shell the prawns.
Remove the black thread or the intestine:
• with a sharp knife make an incision along the back of the bodies;
• extract the black thread or the intestine with the help of a toothpick.
Wash the shelled and incised prawns thoroughly under running water and then let them drain in a colander.
Pat the residual water with kitchen paper towels.Place the prawns back into a colander.
Season with a pinch of salt and grind the pepper, drizzle with lemon juice [or, alternatively, orange juice] and turn them to flavor evenly.
Let them marinate for 15 minutes, then turn them.
Let them marinate for another 15 minutes.
In total, for half an hour, at room temperature.Follow the instructions [temperature and times] indicated in your appliance’s user manual.
Procedure with the Ariete Air Fryer – Fry Healthy [Eurospin]:
• set the temperature to 320°F;
• preheat for 5 minutes;
• pour a drop of oil onto a paper towel and grease the grill accessory;
• remove the basket, place the grill accessory inside, and arrange the prawns on top without overlapping them;
• cook for 8 minutes;
• remove the basket, take out the prawns, and if necessary, proceed with the next batch [it is not necessary to re-grease the grill accessory].And if you don’t have an air fryer or simply prefer you can oven-bake them.
Line a baking tray with a sheet of parchment paper.
Arrange the prawns on the tray without overlapping them.Briefly preheat the oven.
Bake at 350°F in a fan oven for 7 minutes, then check the cooking and evaluate whether to continue for a few more minutes [2-3 at most].Plate up.
Grind a bit more pepper, add chopped parsley, and drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil.
Serve with lemon slices or orange slices.Your peeled prawns with lemon or orange are ready.
