Ingredients
- 2.2 lbs mussels
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 sweet chili pepper
- 1/3 oz parsley
- black peppercorns (2-3 corns)
- 1 lemon (to squeeze or serve in slices)
- 1.35 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Tools
- Pan
- Lid
- Grinder pepper grinder
Steps
Clean the mussels well under running water. Discard broken ones, remove the beard and scrape off all impurities. Rinse them several times and place them in a colander. Heat a large pan and add the mussels along with the oil, freshly ground pepper, sweet chili pepper cut into pieces, and garlic in its skin.
Also add the parsley leaves, reserving some for the final garnish. In about 4 minutes the shells will open; turn off the heat and serve, removing the cooking parsley and tearing some fresh leaves. You can choose to drizzle with lemon juice or place lemon slices on each serving.
