Cheese Trees

Cheese Trees, an extremely simple and no-cook recipe, perfect as an appetizer, for a buffet, or as a starter for the Christmas Eve dinner. Serve them with roasted peanuts and other assorted nuts. Very tasty!!

For preparation, I recommend a type of cheese that’s not too soft, but not too aged either: so, fresh but not too much, basically a middle ground. I used a square toma, but any cheese with a round cut could work.

You can prepare the cheese trees in advance and store them in the refrigerator. One recommendation: insert the pretzel sticks only at the last moment. If you put them in the fridge with the cheese, they tend to become soft.

For choice and to please everyone’s palate, I made some smaller and others larger, but if you prefer, make them all the same size.

But now, let’s see together how to make the Cheese Trees recipe. Gather your ingredients and let’s start.

HOW TO MAKE CHEESE TREES

  • The preparation is very simple. First, take the cheese out of the fridge and place it with its wrapper on a cutting board, then, with a cheese knife, cut it into triangles.

  • I made some larger and others smaller, but if you prefer, you can make them all the same size.

  • Then, cut the pretzel sticks in half and insert them into the triangles from the shorter side.

  • With a food brush, oil the trees with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and place them on a serving plate. You can replace the oil with acacia honey,

Storage

It’s advisable to consume the cheese trees on the same day. If you store them in the refrigerator, remove the pretzel stick that serves as the trunk, otherwise, it becomes soft.
