Orange Sea Bream Fillets

Orange Sea Bream Fillets, a fish-based main course, easy and delicious, that wins everyone over from the first taste: an alternative way to cook sea bream fillets, light and quick.

The preparation really takes little time, not even half an hour in total and it is perfect to serve on the occasion of a lunch or dinner with family or friends, but also on important occasions, such as Christmas or New Year’s Eve.

I used sea bream fillets, although in reality any type of fish would be fine (sole, sea bass, cod, just to name a few). Just pay attention to the cooking minutes that change depending on the fish you use: for sea bream, they are very few. You also need to be careful not to break them while turning.

Let’s see together how to make the recipe for Orange Sea Bream Fillets. Prepare the ingredients as we begin.

  • Cooking methods: Stovetop

Ingredients

  • 2 fillets fresh sea bream, fillets
  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 leaves sage
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 orange (the juice – or half, if you prefer)
  • as needed flour (for dusting the sea bream fillets)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • as needed thyme (or other flavors)

Tools

To make the Orange Sea Bream Fillets, you need:

  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Citrus juicer
  • 2 Spatulas

Steps

Preparation of Orange Sea Bream Fillets

  • First, heat the extra virgin olive oil in a sufficiently large pan, then add the cleaned and chopped onion, along with 3 leaves of sage and let it turn golden for a few minutes.

  • Meanwhile, rinse the sea bream fillets, pat them dry with kitchen paper and dust them with flour, shaking off the excess flour; remove the sage from the pan and lay the fillets. Cook them on high heat for about 1 minute per side, turning them very gently so as not to break them (use 2 spatulas).

  • In the meantime, squeeze the juice of an orange (not too large), strain it and set it aside.

  • Moisten the sea bream fillets with the orange juice, season with thyme, salt, and pepper to taste. Continue cooking at medium-low heat, initially covering with a lid, turning the fish only once to prevent breaking, and moisten the surface from time to time with the orange sauce.

  • Here are the Orange Sea Bream Fillets ready. Enjoy your meal!
