Ginger
Ginger is an edible root of the Zingiberaceae family, a perennial plant native to South Asia. Besides its herbal properties, ginger is used in cooking as a spice and flavoring. It is indispensable in sushi, first and second courses of oriental cuisine, and raw meat and fish tartare. We also find ginger in our cuisine thanks to the Arabs who brought it to Europe in the Middle Ages.
