Strawberry Mille-feuille

I must confess that for this recipe I didn’t have much time available, so I used 2 ready ingredients or almost since I used an instant custard reconstituted only with the addition of milk and pre-made puff pastry sheets purchased at the supermarket.

Unfortunately, the latter, once removed from the package, were broken, and since the initial idea was to create a sort of “lasagna” layered dessert, I had to change everything and recreate an indeed deconstructed mille-feuille.

The creation was very simple, almost trivial, as it was enough to put the pieces of pastry inside a baking dish and then alternate them in various layers with the addition of custard and sliced strawberries. Finally, as the last layer, I decorated with more strawberries and some colored sugared balls.

The result was excellent, a pleasant dessert to enjoy after main meals or to entertain guests in the afternoon. Rest assured that it will be liked by many as it uses simple and well-known ingredients.

  • 2 packets instant custard
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 7 oz strawberries

Tools

  • Baking Dish

Steps

  • First, prepare the custard following the package instructions and then set aside in a bowl

  • Next, take a glass baking dish and spread a layer of cream with the help of a silicone spatula

  • Then, take the puff pastry package and place the first layer inside the dish by breaking up the sheet and covering the entire surface

  • At this point, cover with cream and add the strawberries cut into more or less thin slices

  • Continue forming a new layer with pastry, cream, and strawberries, repeating the same steps as before

  • Finally, when you have used up the ingredients, finish by decorating with strawberries on the entire surface and add, if you like, colored sugared balls

  • To complete, place the dish in the fridge and let it rest for at least 3 hours before consuming

Tip!

Of course, you can prepare your homemade custard if you want a more “homemade” result. You can do the same to create your own pastry sheets.
