How to Cook Roasted Peppers in an Air Fryer
To cook roasted peppers in the air fryer, start by washing and drying the peppers. Leave them whole, with skin, stems, and seeds (1). Line the air fryer basket with the suitable air fryer paper and place the peppers inside (2). Cook them in the air fryer at 392°F for 18 minutes (no preheating needed). Halfway through cooking (3), turn them over.
When dark and soft (4), turn off the air fryer and leave them inside for about 5 minutes: this way they will be easier to peel. Alternatively, you can place them in a plastic bag and let them cool. When they are cool enough to handle, place them on a cutting board and peel them: the skin will come off easily (5). The same goes for the stems and seeds, which will detach without effort (6).
Cut the peppers into strips (7) and arrange them in layers on a tray (8), seasoning each layer with a bit of salt, oil, and chopped parsley (9).
You can serve the roasted peppers immediately or let them cool in the refrigerator for an hour if you prefer a cold side dish.
Storage
Air fryer roasted peppers can be stored in the refrigerator, in a glass container, for 3 to 4 days.
Tips and Variations
Cooking times vary based on the size and fleshiness of the peppers and also depending on the power of the air fryer. I recommend checking them frequently.
If you like, you can season the roasted peppers with one or two cloves of garlic, thinly sliced.
