Grilled Sweet Potatoes

  • 0.55 lbs American sweet potatoes (yellow, red or purple flesh*)
  • as needed extra virgin olive oil
  • as needed salt
  • 1 pinch herbs (thyme, oregano, rosemary, garlic powder. For a different taste you can use paprika, cinnamon or the peel of an untreated citrus fruit)

*I do not recommend using the white variety of American sweet potato, as it tends to darken

Grilled Sweet Potatoes

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any soil residue.

    Do not peel them and cut them into thin slices about 1/8 inch thick.

    Heat the grill over medium heat and when the pan is hot, place the sweet potatoes on it, grill on both sides and turn as needed.

    Meanwhile, prepare the seasoning by mixing the oil with the salt and herbs (or your preferred spices) in a cup (or small bowl).

    As the slices of American sweet potatoes are grilled, place them on a plate and drizzle some seasoned oil over them with a teaspoon.
